Enhancement: Hide CRM for specific users / Assign CRM roles

Option to hide CRM section for specific users

Having better user access and role management features would make SmartTask an even better tool. Not all users should have direct access to the entire CRM or client list.

The ability to customize and, ideally, create a custom user role is essential.

Hello everyone, this feature is already there in SmartTask.

Here’s how this works:

  1. When you associate a contact with a particular project in the organization the project permission takes over.
    For eg: Project A is private shared with 2 members. Contact associated with Project A would only be visible to these 2 members.
  2. CRM analytics is generated from the Custom Fields in the Sales pipeline project. So similar to point 1. Only people who have access to Sales pipeline project would be able to see CRM analytics, others would see a blank screen.

I’ve created a test user to try this out and it doesn’t seem to be working at all.

Here’s what I did:

  1. invited myself using another email account as a standard member
  2. left user in public group
  3. accepted invite and logged into smarttask

Result: my test user can see ALL CRM contacts.

@Matt you need to associate the contact with a project (the project permissions would take over).
