Nobody else has the feeling that the Activities list occupy too much UI’s space?

It makes the interface somehow “crowded”.
Better would be if hidden inside a tab or popup window.

You can switch it off by following the steps below

  1. Go to “My Profile Settings”
  2. Preferences
  3. Select “Only Comments” for Task Activity View.

But in this case it’s a global choice, for all groups and projects, right?

Yes, its a global choice. However, you also have an option to switch to only comments view within the task
